Estimation of Tensile and Shear Strength of Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer Composite
Abstract
The strength of the glass fiber strengthened composite material was estimated. By taking different ply orientation, the tensile strength and the shear strength is estimated. The strength has been tested in the computerized universal testing machine with three times. From the three values the physical parameters of the uni-directional Glass fiber mean value is found. Similarly for tensile strength and the shear strength for cross ply laminate has been found. This indicates the results of strength of cross ply laminate is very lower than uni directional laminate. These values are compared with Finite Element Method and percentage of error found for both values..
