Emoway – An Innovative Methodology for Emotion Recognition

Abstract

In the modern technical era, every technology keeps updating and people spend most of the time using their most wanted technological device, the smartphone. In this era everyone owns a smartphone which comes with a tons of features and softwares. There are some applications which makes the usage of the smartphone even more smarter, such as calling and texting a person, ordering food, setting alarms, taking selfies and even more. But what if a device can be more smarter to understand the emotions of the user and act accordingly to make the human emotionally stable. This paper mainly focuses on the existing system of virtual assistants, the actions that can be performed and the new features that can be added to the existing system and it is named as Emoway, which detects the emotion of the user using the voice input and the command input of the user to take according action to the emotion. In order to make the virtual assistant more interactive by making the on-time recommendations and reducing the glancing time at the screen, another enhancement that can be done by adding offline access to the commands to make the user interaction with device even faster.
